To align with government efforts in strengthening resilience across society and enhancing overall disaster preparedness, our university conducted the “Expanded Disaster Prevention Specialist Training” on August 26–27, 2024 (Year 113). The two-day intensive program was organized with the support of instructors from the Taoyuan City Fire Department and certified seed lecturers from the Ministry of the Interior, and welcomed 63 participating staff members.
The training featured a wide variety of content, including prevention and response strategies for natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons, alongside practical skills such as first aid and evacuation procedures. Through group discussions, participants engaged in tasks such as designing community shelter layout plans, drafting localized disaster response strategies, and practicing emergency care techniques. The program integrated theoretical learning with hands-on drills to strengthen participants' emergency response capabilities, laying a solid foundation for future disaster management efforts.
A second session of this program is scheduled for January 2025 (Year 114), during which 60 additional staff members will be trained. By then, over half of the university’s employees will be certified disaster prevention specialists, forming a vital force in supporting governmental and community-level disaster resilience initiatives.
